Your contribution will drive the market expansion and fast adoption of Aker’s platform around the globe to shape the future of precision agriculture with better plant health analytics.

We are seeking a Operations Manager with strong operational management skills to lead the team building, budgeting, workflow data collection, processing and overall service delivery of Aker’s solution in Brazil. The position will build and execute our service delivery function through the recruitment and management of both internal staff and seasonal contractors across service area.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

  • Build and manage a world class operational infrastructure to plan, deliver and maintain Aker’s service delivery for all customer segments.
  • Oversee the recruitment and training of seasonal and contract staff.
  • Nurture local customer relationships for effective engagement and adapting Aker’s technology platform into the local market.
  • Develop seasonal budget and manage the process and execution for the operating plan.
  • Ensure the availability, reliability, data integrity and security of logistics systems and customer deliverables
  • Collaborate with product team to specify the back-office functionality.
  • Develop integrated processes to automate routine steps, where possible, and collaborate with peers on process improvements, which require their involvement.
  • Develop business cases, justifications and cost-benefit analysis for equipment and information system spending.
  • Mentor and develop team members to enable personal and professional development
  • Travel to the USA (about twice a year) to collaborate in advancing the overall strategy and development of the Aker’s platform.

Recommend technology improvements and investment to reduce operating costs while increasing overall field efficiency.

WHAT YOU BRING

  • Undergraduate degree in a technical discipline; or similar technical experience; Advanced degree (Masters or MBA) preferred
  • 10+ years of progressively responsible operational management experience within a fast-paced logistics, or service driven organizations
  • Familiar with preparation of budgets and experience in managing financial and targets
  • Strong prioritization, interpersonal, problem-solving, project management (from conception to completion), & planning skills
  • Demonstrated collaborative skills and ability to work well within a team
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced and deadline-oriented environment. Self-motivated with critical attention to detail, deadlines and reporting
  • High degree of proficiency in MS Office Suite and data systems.
  • Working experience in the agriculture industry and/or working with seasonal field staff is a plus.
  • Outstanding communication skills with proficiency in English and Portuguese languages.

Lead Systems Engineer

Your contribution will set the pace to complete a commercial solution and scale a platform to shape the future of precision agriculture by in-season crop management practices.

We’re looking for an outstanding lead systems engineer with interest and/or experience in drone systems, sensor integration, obstacle avoidance, and intelligent flight around and into crop fields. This individual brings superb technical, research, and analytical capabilities with a demonstrated ability to work quickly in a multidisciplinary environment, diving deep, producing analysis, and communicating results to an audience of domain experts.

WHAT YOU’LL DO?

  • Document high-quality technical metrics related to design, requirement derivation, failure analysis, performance management, system integration and verification, system-level test plans, and commissioning.
  • Manage software development and testing of all the embedded software for the system.
  • Manage the mechanical design of drone and sensor systems.
  • Work with all cross-functional teams (product, industrial design, and contract manufacturing) with emphasis on working closely with our sensors team to integrate technologies into the final product.
  • Manage the process to bring the system into commercial production by defining factory system test requirements and assisting in project management of resources.
  • Work with and manage suppliers/manufacturing partners to establish mutually beneficial relationships for future product designs.

WHAT YOU BRING?

  • BS or MS Degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering or related field
  • 5+ years of experience in design, integration, and test of modern autonomous vehicles
  • Strong Mathematical/Statistical/Physics fundamentals
  • Excellent problem-solving ability; ability to articulate complex concepts and designs to colleagues across disciplines
  • Proficiency in at least one modern programming language for embedded development support and data analysis
  • Experience as a lead engineer on a related project.
  • Facility with 3D CAD tools, modeling, and fabrication of working prototypes and shipping products
  • Knowledge of sensor integration, hardware design, and overall image computation is preferred
  • Differentiating characteristics include demonstrated leadership and ability to balance independent and teamwork environment, detail-oriented, and an overall go-getter attitude
  • Farming background or passion for agriculture (plus)

Agronomy Innovation Lead

WHAT YOU’LL DO?

  • Create and analyze farmer-led case studies from existing Aker platform users to support new product development through agronomic and practical advice.
  • Manage and maintain the creation and evolution of Aker’s internal agronomy data assets and machine learning engine.
  • Establish partnerships with ag retailers, farmers, crop consultant networks and research centers to identify practical use cases for Aker’s crop diagnostic to address real-world agronomy problems.
  • Test new products and software in the field and identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Benchmark and maintain product performance.
  • Support field deployment for guidance on collection and operational improvements.
  • Support management strategies with new technologies that can become agronomic revenue streams.
  • Contribute to the overall strategy of the company.

WHAT YOU BRING?

  • Minimum BS degree, preferred MS in ag-related subject required
  • 3+ years of experience in ag business
  • Agronomy expertise and demonstrated experience in working with growers in adopting new technology.
  • Ability to distill farm-based problems into new initiatives that farmers will trust.
  • Experience and/or understanding of new product development and launch processes.
  • Able to work independently while committed to team’s objectives.

Full Stack Developer

  • Contribute toward predictable delivery of quality releases
  • Maintain exceptionally high standards of design and code quality

WHAT YOU BRING

  • Minimum three years as a full stack software developer or similar role 
  • Experience in HTML/CSS/JavaScript
  • Deep experience in one or more of the following; React, Nodejs, Ruby/Rails
  • Experience with database schema design, SQL and PostGIS.
  • Familiarity with machine learning techniques and computer vision
  • Enthusiastic, fearless and boundary-less with the ability to coach and mentor

WHAT YOU’LL BRING?

  • Ten years of proven sales success experience with at least five of them in B2B large account sales.
  • An undergraduate degree.
  • Relevant work experience in agriculture is preferred.
  • A driver’s license and willingness to drive in the region to meet customers once every few weeks for a couple of days.
  • Able to work independently regularly, while committed to the team’s objectives.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to build strong relationships with channel partners.
